Prior to being a patient
advisor for BHR I was a patient for several
years. I have had 5 surgeries here to date
and not just a token amount of grafts but
some 5,500. Like many patients I chose to
return for subsequent surgeries and recommended
the clinic to others who were looking for
surgery, something I would not have done
had I not been confident in the clinic.
My main reason for going to the clinic
was that I had seen the work of Dr.Bisanga
on a colleague who had had FUE surgery.
My colleague had done 10 years of research
prior to having surgery.
I was fortunate to see the work first hand
and also met Dr.Bisanga and was also impressed
with his ethos and work ethic. So for me,
it was a foregone conclusion that my subsequent
surgeries would be at BHR. I had no need
to look for another clinic.
The clinic location, [although not the
most important aspect of any decision],
is conveniently located in Brussels, so
easily reachable from the UK by the Eurostar.
Seeing that my first transplant surgery
was a four hour flight away, Brussels was
really an easy commute in comparison.
I found the clinic modern and bright and
a very comfortable place to have my surgery.
A comfort for me also was the fact that
there were English speaking staff in the
clinic, both native and secondary language
speakers. This might only seem a smalll
issue, but if you are having long days of
surgery it can be alienating to not be able
communicate with the staff.
The clinic offer both FUE and Strip surgery
and are doing both types week after week.
